HOFIs are a widely loved bird, despite often being incredibly annoying. It's a gamble if they'll beg for food or not, some individuals can be bitey as well. They're too silly to be mad at though. There's one that's been in for a few weeks who very intentionally yells at me whenever I mess with things in his cage. They love strawberries more than life itself, and even little babies will suddenly learn how to feed themselves if you put some fresh ones down in their food bowl. They take sheer delight in the act of throwing strawberry bits all over their cage. They tend to be a little sickly, they get dehydrated really easily and are prone to conjunctivitus, which is a type of eye infection. They're also likely to just suddenly drop dead, which can be a little traumatizing to witness. They like to cause mischeif, and I love that for them.
